Do you feel like you're the only one experiencing challenges with new motherhood? Do you find yourself constantly in judgement of your motherhood, because you’re constantly comparing yourself to how others seem to be handling things with seemingly such ease? You are not alone. I am so honored to have been invited by Mama Glow to lead a circle about the various ways “overwhelm” touches our lives — from our self-images, to our marriages and partnerships, to our feelings of connectedness to our children, to our careers — and more. Mom 2.0 is a gathering of influencers and leaders who create content online and on air in parenting, entertainment, food, politics, business, marketing, technology, social change, travel and design.
In this lightly facilitated conversation, we will share our feelings about our sexual desires (or lack thereof) after motherhood; and explore what might be holding us back from fun, pleasurable, and active sex lives (besides, you know, those babies and toddlers). Discussion will be led by Not Safe For Mom Group founder Alexis Barad-Cutler, joined by postpartum doula and Wing Woman Adriane Stare.
RSVP on the @the.wing website. $35 plus +1 guest. Childcare will be provided.

There are a lot of stark truths that accompany early motherhood, many of which are left unspoken for fear of being thought of as a ‘bad’ parent. We’re putting all parental taboos to bed, and creating a safe space to get into the nitty gritty that comes with early motherhood, namely the loneliness one feels in the first few months of nurturing a new babe. Join The Hoxton, in partnership with Not Safe for Mom Group (NSFMG); and accompanied by panelists, Mama Talks co-founder Mari Agory, Mama Glow founder and doula Latham Thomas, and BINTO founder Suzie Welsh. It’s the launch of NSFMG EVENTS! Not Safe For Mom Group — in partnership with The Motherhood Center of New York — invites you to an evening of honest talk. Let's connect over the raw and real stuff of motherhood that we often keep to ourselves. Motherhood alters us in in profound ways -- but there are many "taboo" topics we aren't talking about or saying out loud. Tonight, we'll be putting a spotlight on just these kinds of subjects, at our "Panel-Meets-Mom-Group-Meetup"-vibed event.
